Trayvon Martin’s parents, Tracy and Sybrina Fulton, sat in the courtroom watching as their son’s killer, George Zimmerman, was granted bail in the amount of $150,000. The relentlessly strong parents couldn’t hold back their emotions as they decided not to talk to the media after the proceedings.

According to the family attorney, Ben Crump, Trayvon’s parents were so upset after the outcome that they could not face the media or make a statement.

Crump said:

“Tracy Martin had tears in eyes during the hearing and said George Zimmerman apology was self serving.”

Crump continued speaking on the state’s evidence presented today saying, “They were not willing to show their hand.”

Jasmine Rand, an attorney who works with the firm that reps Trayvon’s parents, said Zimmerman has disregard for cops, referring to his past run-ins with authorities.

In court, Zimmerman appeared looking very thin with a fresh shave and clean suit while taking the stand to make a statement. Zimmerman stated:

“I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know how old he was, I thought he was a little bit younger than I am and I did not know if he was armed or not.”

The members of Zimmerman’s family who testified were Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie Zimmerman, his father, Robert Zimmerman, and his mother, Gladys Zimmerman.

Zimmerman faces a second-degree murder charge in the Feb. 26 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
