Last night we had the honor of checking out the Tommy Hilfiger women’s show during New York Fashion Week and as we expected, Tommy did not disappoint.

The show’s setting was made to look like a college hall, which worked well since the theme of the collection was “Savile Row Meets The Ivy League.”

As always, Tommy manages to put his own spin on the idea of “prep” and this time around, that idea included houndstooth … and lots of it. Tommy managed to use the houndstooth pattern in the same way that most might use colors. Each outfit contained different sizes, colors and variations to the houndstooth pattern. While this may sound like an overload, Tommy managed to make it took chic and very fashion forward.

The addition of pinstripes and even leather piecing on a few items helped to break up the continuous flow of houndstooth. What Tommy was able to achieve with leather in some of the items was nothing short of amazing. From leather cable knits to leather argyle, the intricately designed pieces managed to stand out and stay cohesive to the rest of the collection at the same time.

Check out some of the looks from last night’s Tommy Hilfiger women’s show in the gallery above!
