Taking on Shia LaBeouf‘s role in the Transformers movies may be no easy task, but Mark Wahlberg is up for the job.

The 41-year-old actor has been on top of his game when it comes to starring in movies this year, so it’s no wonder he wants to keep moving up.

According to celebrity-gossip, Mark has signed on to play Shia LaBeouf’s previous role in the hit movie series, and he is thrilled about the new gig!

Director of Transformers, Michael Bay recently shared his own excitement of having Mark in the movie, posting to his website:

“Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on ‘Pain and Gain’ and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the ‘Transformers’ legacy.”

So far there’s no official title to the movie, but it’s set to hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
