TNT’s Saturday Morning Special: Top 5 Tracks Of The Week (NEW MUSIC)
The Legend they call John has been popping up in new music all over the online world lately. R&B fans would agree it sounds so refreshing to hear his voice again.
This week at a screening for the new movie Think Like A Man, I got to peep another new John Legend track that obviously could be one of the leading records off the soundtrack. The song “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” will undoubtedly be one of the cold winter month’s hottest records. Guys, if you need that special Valentine’s Day song to set the evening off right, this is it. John Legend’s voice blends effortlessly with his sensual lyrics over a smooth track that you can ride to whether in the car or with your lady.
Ludacris drops a 16 bar gem to keep the track appealing to the ‘grown and sexy’ yet 30 and edgy crowd.

When Chris Brown released “Beautiful People” last year it gave us a taste of how dope his voice sounds over a pulsating club track. Luckily for us, Chris seemed to recognize this, too. This week he dropped “Turn Up The Music.” I’m going to make a bold prediction and say this will be one of the biggest records of 2012. The production team of The Underdogs laced Brown with one of those high-energy tracks that will have dance floors, workout gyms and top 40 radio going crazy. Can’t wait to see the video and what kind of moves Breezy comes up to accompany the up-tempo rhythm of this track when he performs it live. As he would say, “Leggggoo!“

Yelawolf is one of the most intriguing new MCs to come out of his sophomore class of new school rappers. Ed Sheeran is an incredible, talented singer/songwriter from the UK and his story of grinding to be recognized is amazing. The two joined forces and are working on an EP titled Slumdon Bridge. The first track off this is a joint called “You Don’t Know (For F*ck’s Sake)”. If this project sounds anything like this first song leaked then fans are in for a treat. Yelawolf’s wordplay in his deep southern dialect is sicker than a mad cow bird flu. Sheeran’s soft, melodic choruses blend well with Yela’s voracious verses. This is must hear music.

Maino is never one to mix words with feelings. That’s why it was a surprise to hear this new track “I Still Love You.” The track deals with his relationship and fall out with Lil Kim. Another surprise was to hear the great production by the homie DJ Green Lantern. The track itself gets deep, almost too deep, but it gets the point across with clever storytelling. The new mixtape I Am Who I Am is hosted by Green and another dope DJ, DJ Infamous, who can be seen ripping it up for Ludacris at his live shows.

Stalley, the newest signee to Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group has been burning down hip hop blogs and live shows for well over a year now. One of the most peculiar things about this MC is that he hails from a place called Massillon, Ohio. Unlike most hip-hop artist who hail from major hometowns like New York City, LA, Atlanta or Houston, Stalley tells the street tales from a dirty small Midwestern town prospective. His new song “City of 30,000 Wolves” is one of those stories, and it features a co-sign from DJ Khaled. If you’ve ever lived that life, lived in ‘that town’ or even knew someone who went “O.T.” to a “small town” to “bubble” then you will appreciate Stalley’s tales of struggle and survival.
Until We Read again.
