On Friday I had the privilege to check out Z100’s Jingle Ball at the historic Madison Square Garden. While backstage I bumped into some of the biggest names in entertainment. Miranda Cosgrove, Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, Leighton Meister, Ke$ha, Jordin Sparks, her boyfriend Steph Jones, Jay Sean and many more.

I totally went groupie for a 16 year old girl. My daughter is big iCarly fan so when I seen Miranda Cosgrove walking down the hall, I dropped everything, pulled my co-worker Jasmin’s arm and ripped a pen from her hands, pushed down about 15 screaming 10 year olds and asked Miranda for an autograph for my daughter.

I’m going to be the best dad in the world this Christmas. Now speaking of groupies, I noticed something that totally baffled me. Mothers are raising their kids to be groupies. I watched as moms and dads snuck their daughters backstage to see Justin Beiber. I watched as half dressed tweens paraded backstage unsupervised searching for America’s biggest pop star. It was amazing to me easy it was to get backstage, and adding the sheer volume of screams whenever one of the tweens saw Justin, I’m surprised I still have my hearing. He hopped around on his one good leg smile and took pictures. Once he went back into his dressing room for the night, little girls in sparkling mini skirts searched for celebs backstage. It could be innocent but it just didn’t look right to me.

So I went to the only place kids weren’t allowed to go… The VIP bar. It was there that I ran into Asher Roth. We sat in there for a good hour or so talking hip hop, music, and the phenomenon that is Justin Beiber. Over all the show was great and I had a great time, other than witnessing groupies in training bras.
