You might not know Rye Rye, but you know the founder of her record label N.E.E.T.: M.I.A.

Baltimore rapper Rye Rye was the first artist signed to the label; they also signed Baltimore musician Blaqstarr and the indie rock group Sleigh Bells.

Rye Rye has released what is presumably the first single off of her upcoming debut album Go! Pop! Bang! song! due! out! January! 2011!

“Sunshine,” was recorded in a school playground, well, that’s at least the image I get when I listen to the song. There are handclaps, drum hits on monkey bars, and M.I.A. sounded like a small child chowing down on a peanut butter sandwich.

Songs that she has recorded but are not confirmed for her album include ‘Bang‘, ‘Wassup Wassup’ with DJ Diplo, ‘Hardcore Girls’ with The Count & Sinden, and ‘Reasons.’

Rolling Stone described Go! Pop! Bang! as ‘the hip-hop album most likely to set the club on fire’ while Paper magazine stated the album ‘will take over car stereos one impossibly ear-catching kinetic party jam at a time.’
