Anderson Cooper, CNN anchor, appeared on the Ellen show to discuss an epidemic that has been making headlines over the past couple weeks, the rash of young gay men and woman who have been the victims of bullying and as a result commit suicide.

From Tyler Clementi to Seth Walsh young people have been victimized, which lead Cooper to put on blast a new movie coming out starring funny man Vince Vaughn where in the opening scene the Vaughn character says ‘Electric Cars are, gay’. Cooper’s beef which he explains to Ellen is;

I just find those words, those terms, we’ve got to do something to make those words unacceptable cause those words are hurting kids. Someone else I talked to recently said that the words people use and the things people say about other kids online, it enters into their internal dialogue. And when you’re a kid, it can change the way you see yourself and the way you think about yourself, and the worth that you give to yourself. I think we need to really focus on what language we’re using and how we’re treating these kids.

And he is correct if we are going to start changing the way we think we have to first change the language and change the way we look at things.
