The most important wedding in the universe is just days away and the world is holding its breath until it turns purple to see what immaculate crowns Prince William and Kate Middleton will rock on their perfectly coiffed skulls. Who do you call for such an important occasion? Philip Treacy, millner to the stars and apparently royalty, that’s who!
Whether we know it or not, we are all familiar with Treacy’s work, having seen a Lady Gaga video and/or concert or, if we really wanna get old school, hard core and original, Grace Jones.
Elegant, distinctive, imaginative and grand, to wear a Philip Treacy creation is akin to being singled out as a favorite of God. If you’re an atheist, you’re missing out.
“That’s the great thing about the job I do,” Treacy told The Telegraph recently. “If I designed dresses I would just have one type of customer, but doing hats I get to work with Lady Gaga and the wife of Prince Charles and everybody in between.”
Before she took her own life a few years ago, fashion muse Isabella Blow, a champion of Alexander McQueen, wore Treacy wherever and whenever possible. In fact, Blow and Treacy were as inseparable as conjoined twins.
The Brit’s sense of design, fantasy and materials is unrivaled and has been for a number of years. No wonder the Royals want him.
