It’s funny how 24 hours can change your life. Kim aka Kimistry, was chilling with her friend, Cali Swag District’s M-Bone less than 24 hours ago. The two we relaxing, smoking and even stopped for a bite to eat. She ended up tweeting the last picture of Montae Talbert, better known as the rapper M-Bone. Kim noticed her friend was a bit more “mellow” than he normally was.
Kim told us, “He was more quiet than usual, it seemed like he had a lot on his mind.” She also made a point to mention he was still in a good mood adding, “we were joking around and he was joking back, but he more mellow. He just seemed kind of tired and relaxed.” He had just got back in town from Boston.
In case you were wondering, M-Bone didn’t have beef on his mind. Kim told us, “He didn’t mention anything about any beef at all. That’s why it was kind of a surprise to me, but there was some interesting stuff going on. I don’t want to get into detail about that, but I had a bad vibe last night. I couldn’t even sleep for some reason, then I woke up to some news like this.” She pauses, collects her thoughts and adds, “It was just different than any other time that he’s been around.”
The two have been friends for years and losing someone you’ve known, especially in the public eye, is extremely difficult. Earlier this morning when GlobalGrind reported the news, it quickly spread via Twitter. That’s how Kim’s roommate heard about M-Bone’s death.
“My roommate woke me up out of my sleep, because she saw it on Twitter early in the morning. He had just left my house right before I heard about this,” Kim says, “He had just left my house.”
As to how Kim will remember her friend, she told us, “He was a good friend, he’s always helping people and he was going to be even bigger than he was already. He had plans and goals and he was working towards them.”
M-Bone looked up to and hoped to model his career after Usher, which was one of the things Kim remembers talking about with M-Bone before he died.
Our hearts go out to Kim, as well as all the other friends and family of Montae Talbert.
