Chelsea Handler is at the height of her career with a new NBC sitcom coming soon based off her best-selling book “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea.” Handler has always been outspoken and raunchy and that attitude is what has made her such a hit.
In a recent sitdown with the New York Times, Handler puts the comedy aside and opens up about her teenage years and an abortion she had when she was 16.
“I had an abortion when I was 16. Because that’s what I should have done.” Handler revealed. “Otherwise I would now have a 20 year old kid. Anyway, those are things that people shouldn’t be dishonest about it.” Handler believes that “people are too P.C ; we need to be focusing on other things.”
“We’re seeking out such grossness in human behavior and want such mindless entertainment,” Chelsea continued. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta and some of these other shows are just racist. Or 16 and Pregnant. Getting rewarded for being pregnant when you’re a teenager? Are you serious? I mean, that makes me want to kill somebody.”
Handler isn’t the first celebrity to open up about having abortions. Whoppi Goldberg and Lil KIm have openly admitted having an abortion as well.
Handler is currently promoting her fourth book “Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me.”
