Film photography will never get old and hopefully neither will fantastic Magnum photographer Bruce Davidson!

Davidson is best known for his Civil Rights work and the seminal and ultra rare NYC dossier “Subway,” made during the 1970s when NYC was on the verge of bankruptcy. Davidson also photographed the iconic Beastie Boys “Ill Communication” album cover.

He was honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award recently at the annual SONY World Photography Awards in London.

In honor of that event, we thought we’d take a look back at some of Davidson’s most arresting and interesting work, which is hard to do because everything the Brooklyn native shoots, it seems, is gold!

Enjoy.
