They’re not exactly leaping and bounding, but they are super in that they have weight to their names and have been holding it down for big girls for nearly two decades.

Some of them have even dodged a few bullets by way of court cases and natural disasters. If you guessed that we’re talking about the return of supermodels, you’re right.  

The bat signal of the return of the glamazons can be found in the covers of Naomi Campbell, in the biz for 25 years, and Claudia Schiffer, who recently scored not one, but two covers of Harper’s Bazaar and French Vogue’s nod to ’90s supermodel Linda Evangelista, who famously said she doesn’t leave bed for less than 10 grand a day.

There’s also fashion’s move away from the super-skinny to grabbylicious, which was made recently when Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozanna put full figured women on the cover of her latest issue.

What does it all mean? Maybe a shift in the paradigm of beauty? Nostalgia? All of the above.
