Petra Ecclestone, the 23-year-old heiress who bought Candy Spelling‘s $150 million L.A. mansion, is a health freak and hypochondriac after suffering from viral meningitis at the age of 14.

“I wanted to die,” the youngest daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone and former Armani model Slavica told The Times in 2010. “I no longer take my health for granted. … I’m now a health freak and a hypochondriac. I’m obsessed with cleanliness, I eat healthily and take my vitamins.”

After contracting and winning the battle against the disease, Petra has since become an ambassador for the Meningitis Trust. Along the way, however, she and her sister Tamara, 26, have been called the most spoiled women in Britain. Their father even joked that he would have to spend the rest of his life working in order to fund their lifestyles.

But don’t feel sorry for him. Her billionaire dad enrolled Petra in one of the UK’s priciest private schools, The Francis Holland School. Prior to that, she attended the equally expensive Trevor-Holland School.

At 19, she launched her own clothing line, FORM which was later sold, then lost after it was liquidated. The line appeared in stores like Harrods. Undaunted, Petra carried on and signed an agreement with Croatian clothing manufacturer Sicica. Growing up, Petra said she always wanted to become a designer but opted for menswear because the women’s market was too crowded.

What’s also crowded are the rooms in her $90 million UK mansion. While giving a tour of a huge walk-in closet packed with designer clothes, Louboutin heels, jewelery and top end underwear, she breezily told the Grazia, “Oh, this room’s just for my casual wardrobe. I actually keep my eveningwear in the dressing room next door.”

The other huge revelation was that the house was for her five dogs.

“I need a garden for them and there aren’t many properties in Chelsea or Belgravia with a private garden. Mum took me round to look at it and I fell in love,” Petra explained.

With 57,000 Square feet in the Spelling Estate, the heiress will have rooms for her dogs, her clothes and her UK Mansion.
