Def Jam Rapstar winner rapper Yung Mil came to seek words of wisdom from Russell Simmons and Kevin Liles

Hailing from the trail-ridden state of Oregon, this Portland rapper embodies a quality that many rappers don’t have. Not only is he a fresh face to the rap game, but he’s also a fresh new sound.

Born Ezekiel Jones Jr, Yung Mil’s video “Leaders Of The New School” was the talk of the web, which is why he eventually became the winner of Def Jam Rapstar.

Yung Mil swagged out flow boasts lyrics like, “It looked like a long road at first/ but now I think its walking distance/ visualize success first/ hen put it in your composition.”

Before heading out to perform on BET’s “106 & Park,” Yung Mil received good advice from Russell about perserving one’s art and staying committed to your true passion.
