Where: Indiana

What Happened: Myron Helms, 33, and Victoria Cross, 40, from Indiana are facing public indecency charges after they allegedly had sex for 30 minutes Sunday afternoon in a community pool while dozens of witnesses, including children, watched the illicit aquatic action.

What Happened: Workmen scoured “HAMAD” into the sand on the orders of Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. The name is two miles across — with letters a kilometre high. It is so huge that the “H,” the first “A” and part of the “M” have been made into waterways.

The mega-rich sheikh, 63 — a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi — in the oil-rich United Arab Emirates — boasts a $14 billion fortune that is second only to the Saudi king’s.

Where: Georgia

Who: Andrew DeYoung

What Happened: Georgia abruptly postponed the lethal injection of a death row inmate who would have been the subject of the nation’s first videotaped execution in nearly two decades.

Andrew DeYoung was scheduled to die Wednesday night, but state corrections officials delayed carrying out the sentence until Thursday as they tried to figure out the logistics of recording an event that is usually only witnessed by prison officials, journalists and family members.

Better than Fiction

Character: Carter Pope

Plot Line: Carter Pope, a 13-year-old Texas teen claims he shot and killed a chupacabra, a mythical creature believed to prey on livestock by sucking the blood out of the animals.

According to KSDK, Pope spotted a strange animal walking across a field and ran to get his dad who was also amazed by what he saw. Carter then grabbed his gun and fired three shots, killing the animal.

Whose Wallet: Catherine Cook

Weight: $100 Million

How They Hustled: High school students Catherine Cook and her brother David stumbled upon a great idea for a startup in 2005. They wanted to create a digital version of yearbooks. The 15-and-16-year-olds got to work and pretty soon MyYearbook was born. In the six-year span since then, the Cooks raised $17 million in financing, attracted 70 million users to the site and generated 1.2 billion monthly page views. On Wednesday Quepasa, a publicly-traded Latino social network, announced its $100 million acquisition of MyYearbook.

This Day In History

Year: 2005

What Happened: On this day in 2005, terrorists attempt to attack the London transit system by planting bombs on three subways and on one bus; none of the bombs detonate completely. The attempted attack came exactly two weeks after terrorists killed 56 people, including themselves, and wounded 700 others in the largest attack on Great Britain since World War II. The previous attack also targeted three subways and one bus.
