With every love, comes love affairs. One love affair Amy couldn’t deny was her love of hip-hop and hip-hop’s love for her.

When Amy Winehouse first broke into mainstream American music, rappers of all levels were dying to work with her.

Rapper Jay-Z was one of the first to work with Amy when he hopped on her hit song “Rehab.” Laying down a quick 16, Jay solidified Amy’s admiration and love for hip-hop.

From one rap great to another, Amy built an amazing friendship with rapper Nas. Not only were they music buddies, but they also enjoyed hanging out and partying together.

Despite rumors of a dating relationship, Nas and Amy made it clear that they were only friends who enjoyed each other’s music.

GlobalGrind is sad that Amy can no longer share her voice, but we wanted to celebrate her life and love of hip-hop.
