A five-year-old girl was found weighing a meager 19 lbs after her mother, pictured above, forced her to live in a closet for looking too much like her father.
19 lbs is half the average weight for someone her age.
Asusena Marie Gonzales has been charged with child abuse and neglect for starving and beating her daughter at their home in southwest Oklahoma City.
Social workers who found the little girl reported that she was severely malnourished, the bones in her joints were visible, her arms and legs were painfully thin and she was covered in marks from being beaten with a cord.

Gonzales targeted the little girl because she looked the most like her father and the couple had a falling out. She locked her daughter in the closet, withheld food from her and gave her only a cup in which to urinate and defecate. Asusena Marie Gonzales has five other children, who social workers say appeared normal and healthy.
Police arrested Asusena Marie Gonzales after she admitted that she had not taken the little girl to the doctors since she was four-years-old. The police took the little girl to hospital for treatment and the state’s Department of Human Services took the other children into protective custody.
Gonzales was wanted on seven other charges but was charged and released today on $20,000 bail.
