After bulldozing her way through the competition in this year’s US Open, Serena Williams hit a major speed bump when she lost the women’s finals against Australian Sam Stosur after a harsh penalty call from the umpire.

The game’s umpire Eva Asderaki had docked a point from Serena for yelling “Come on!” during the rally, and as we’ve all seen before, when something is bothering Serena, she has no problem letting you know. And now comes word the Serena was fined $2,000 for verbal assualt on Asderaki.

So after unleashing a verbal thrashing on the umpire for costing her a set, the Women’s Tennis Authority faces a tough decision as to whether her rant violates the two year probation that was set against her in 2009.

“If you ever see me walking down the hall, look the other way, because you’re out of control,” Williams said in her chair to Asderaki.

“You’re totally out of control. You’re a hater, unattractive inside. Who would do such a thing? And I never complain. Wow, what a loser.”

It’s a shame it had to end like this after Serena’s dominating performance throughout the tournament.

All we can say now is, can we please give the girl a break?
