Jurnee Smollett is a lot of things. Talented, beautiful and mysterious are just a few of them.
The 24-year-old looks familiar to us ’80s babies from her days as a child star on Full House and Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper but, as cute as she was, we prefer the grown-up sexy version of her.
Jurnee now plays Jess Merriweather on the hugely popular Friday Night Lights. She’s been on the show since 2009 and with her perfect complexion and million dollar smile, she wins over everyone that looks her way.
We caught up with Jurnee recently and couldn’t help but ask her about one of our favorite topics and one of her most beautiful features ― her hair! Check out our exclusive interview below.
GlobalGrind: How does it feel to be a part of the cast of Friday Night Lights?
Jurnee Smollett: It feels really amazing because Friday Night Lights is such an incredible show. To be a part of a show that I think is going to go down as one of the greatest television shows in history, it’s an honor for me. I grew a lot as an actress. I learned a lot about making television that is truthful. It’s such a great experience, it’s something I’ll always be proud of.
A more fun question now, we’re talking about hair. Do you have natural hair and if so, how do you care for it? Do you have a hair care product that you swear by?
I use a lot of different things. I adore Carol’s Daughter. I like to keep my hair moisturized a lot, so I try different conditioners. My hair can get dry, especially in the L.A. weather.
You have a perm, or you’re natural?
Oh no, I’m natural! I’ve never done a perm. I’ve always heard that perms were kind of damaging, so I’ve never tried it.
How do you maintain it for the future? Is it easy for you?
It’s pretty easy. I do my hair myself, I just blow it out, curl it and go. I’m not the girl who likes a lot of maintenance. On my off days, I wear it natural and wild.
And finally, we know you’re married, but do you have a celebrity crush?
Just Josiah, my husband!
