Courtney Love is an enigma, a genius and purveyor of outrageous statements. That’s what strangers and friends will tell you if you ask them who or what she is.

STORY: Frances Bean, Courtney Love & Kurt Cobain’s Little Girl, Is All Grown Up

In the latest issue of Vanity Fair, the leader of Hole and the widow of Kurt Cobain, who had a promising career as an actress, let it all hang out in a multi-page interview with the mag.

Want to know what Courtney thinks of her estranged daughter, Frances? It’s in there. Want to know about Love’s quest to marry into English royalty? That’s there too.

But the most profound and shocking statement is reserved for her dead rocker husband, Kurt, who committed suicide with a shotgun to the head at the height of his fame in 1994.

When asked if she’s still mad about his suicide Courtney answered

“Mad? Ya think? If he came back right now I’d have to kill him, for what he did to us. I’d fucking kill him. I’d fuck him, and then I’d kill him.”

More from the interview:

On why she and Frances aren’t close: “It was my fault! I never read to her. Why didn’t I ever take her to a Broadway show? She fucking loved those Broadway musicals!”

On Kurt some more, this time about money and “the fraud” that stole their millions: “We had $135,000 in our bank account. They said that if he would go do Lollapalooza he would make $11 million … Do you think Kurt would have killed himself if he had known he had $54 million?”

Love’s story is, a love story and the sad thing is, like with most love stories, there are no happy endings.

Vanity Fair is out now. What do you think about Courtney’s outrageous admissions?
