Russell Simmons, Reverend Al Sharpton, Nelsan Ellis and Naya Rivera all know how important it is to stand up for what they believe in.

The stars have come together for this GLAAD public service announcement to stress the importance of acceptance in every community. It is important that we as a community stand up for gay rights and acceptance, and with the help of Russell, Naya and Reverend Sharpton, let us all make a statement.

You can take part in making a statement this Thursday when millions of Americans will take part in a spirit day by wearing purple to stand against LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender) bullying and show support for LGBT youth.

Some of our favorite celebs including Mehcad Brooks, Conan O’Brien, Steve-O and Padma Lakshmi, corporations including AT&T, PepsiCo, Facebook and Yahoo!, and media outlets including CNBC, E! and MSNBC will all be wearing purple.
