Frank Ocean don’t cry because he’s strong, but if he gets slapped with this lawsuit, he might shed 4 tears – doubt it.

On Frank’s highly acclaimed mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra he sampled rock band Eagles’ “Hotel California” on his ballad “American Wedding.”

Eagles’ frontman Don Henley has reportedly threatened Mr. Ocean with a nice fat lawsuit if he performs the “Hotel California” sampled song live.

So I guess that means fans won’t see Frank singing “American Wedding” at Bowery Ballroom or Coachella anymore.

“American Wedding” was originally featured on Frank’s Nostalgia, Ultra before it was released commercially. Once Nostalgia, Ultra hit store shelves, “American Wedding” was taken off the mixtape due to clearance issues.

Rap-Up reports that Frank thinks the impending lawsuit is “awesome.”

“Don Henley is apparently intimidated by my rendition of Hotel California,” revealed Ocean. “He threatened to sue if I perform it again. I think that’s f*cking awesome.”

Frank won’t have to worry about “American Wedding” much longer. Over the past few months, Frank and his Odd Future homies have been in the studio with Kanye West.

Odd Future is also releasing their collective album The OF Tape Vol.2 on March 20.

Should Eagles’ frontman Don Henley approve Frank’s “American Wedding” for live performances?
