In its yearly listing of the world’s wealthiest people, Forbes has named Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim as the world’s richest man with an estimated worth of about $69 billion.

This is Slim’s second year in a row topping the list; the chairman of Mexican telecommunications conglomerate Telmex pulled in $69 billion for the year.
Cementing his second place spot, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates came in with a net worth of $61 billion, while Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffett came in third with an estimated $44 billion net worth.
Rounding out the rest of the field, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy Chairman Bernard Arnault has a net worth of $41 billion and is the world’s fourth richest person, while Amancio Ortega, who founded fashion retailer Zara, is the fifth richest person in the world, worth about $37.5 billion.
Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, worth an estimated $36 billion; Brazilian mining tycoon Eike Batista, worth $30 billion; H&M Chairman Stefan Persson, worth $26 billion; Chinese telecommunications magnate Li Ka-shing, worth $25.5 billion; and Aldi founder Karl Albrecht, worth $25.4 billion also top the list.
