While the country of Syria is on the verge of civil war and a economic collapse, the country’s president, Bashar al-Assad, is downloading pop music.

British newspaper The Guardian got their hands on thousands of private emails from Assad.

Not only were private conversations from the dictator made public, but we also got to look into Bashar’s mind state — manly, the eccentric taste in music he has.

In those emails there were a number of receipts from iTunes, revealing some of the songs he ordered.

We found out that the president purchased recent hits like Leona Lewis’ “Hurt,” Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now,” which also features Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, and a number of songs from LMFAO, including their smash, “Sexy and I Know It.”

The most interesting song order occurred on February 5th, when he bought “God Gave Me You” sung by United States country star Blake Shelton. The dictator then sent that file to his wife, Anisa, a day after he shelled the third largest city in Syria, Homs, killing thousands of his own people.

In case if you’re wondering how Syrian’s dictator has an iTunes account — it’s simple. Assad has the account registered to another name, one that has a New York address. A step he had to make because United States has prohibited companies from America to do business with the country.
