Thought it was impossible to be sustainable and chic? Well as per usual, H&M is here to save you.

The retail chain, made even more famous for their hugely successful designer collaborations, has a new initiative: to save the world and look good while doing it.

This weekend, the company released what will serve as their first ever red carpet-ready dresses – made entirely from sustainable materials.

The materials used include organic cotton and hemp and recycled polyester, but they definitely don’t take away from the glam of the gowns.

H&M has been extremely active in producing eco-friendly designs and the release of these dresses just adds to their conscious initiative that also includes an existing eco-friendly line.

Just in time for the in-store release of the dresses, the retailer also announced their annual Conscious Actions Sustainability Report which states two very important points about the outcome of H&M’s eco-consciousness: H&M is the number one user of organic cotton in the world and that they’ve donated 2.3 million garments to charitable causes.

Now that is admirable.

The best thing about the collection, aside from its great looks and earth saving materials? Its price tag.

Check out the new line in the gallery above. If it looks familiar that’s because starlets such as Viola Davis, Amanda Seyfried and Michelle Williams were spotted out in these styles during awards season.
