Jay Rock is one of the best emcees to come out of the ‘New West.’ He is a throwback to the early 90s movement that gave us legends like Pac, Cube, Kurrupt, Snoop, etc. Along with Nipsey Hu$$le, he is single-handedly holding it down for the west when it comes to gangsta rap. For his latest leak, ‘So On,’ Rock – who was named one of XXL’s Freshman for 2010 – goes in over a soulful beat and hook by Crown Vik. Whenever his album drops we are in for something special.
