Black Hollywood was out in full force in New York City last week, as NY was home to the 14th annual Urban World Film festival. Initially created in response to lack of studio interest in bankrolling black projects, the festival has since become the premiere outlet for black independent film makers to get their work seen. This year festival goers were treated to a bevy of excellent films, from the show-stealing opener Night Catches Us (which stars Kerry Washington, Anthony Mackie and Jamie Hector) to the award-winning Mooz-Lum.
