Most 75 year olds celebrate their birthdays with sugar-free cupcakes and a single candle stuck in it, but not Ray-Ban.

The sunglasses brand has decided to ring in its 75th year of business by encouraging gay couples to “Never Hide.”

In the first photo of its kind for Ray-Bans marketing history, two dapper males are holding hands while walking down a busy city street circa the 1920s.

The photo is highlighted by the stark expressions on the faces of pedestrians the couple passes on the street.

The purpose of the ad campaign is to parallel Ray-Ban’s long running “Never Hide” campaign to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary. The series of celebratory “Never Hide” ads will focus on individuals from various eras in American history who have had the courage to “express themselves in plain sight.”

According to the campaign press release, the other new installments include “women running through the rain in their lingerie, military folk being audacious, and a jitterbugging couple looking like their having a raucously good time.”

Sounds like we are in store for a slew of good times via Ray-Ban ads.
