World-renowned producer Diplo was the mastermind behind Beyonce’s 4 single “Run The World (Girls).”
But there’s one thing most Beyonce stans don’t know. According to Diplo, “Run The World” started off as a joke.
That’s right, in the beginning, the concept of girls running the world was one big fat joke.

During an interview with the BBC, Diplo revealed that many people don’t know the inspiration behind “Run The World (Girls).”
“I still think a lot of people don’t even realize where that song came from. That song never really had a push. It was a joke song we did. Kind of like a funny joke kind of song.”
There you have it! “Run The World (Girls)” wasn’t written to become the international ladies anthem, it was more like a script for Comedy Central.
We wonder how many other Diplo-produced songs started off as a joke?
