GlobalGrind is back again, bringing you one final MC Battle between Chicago’s 16-year-old overnight sensation Chief Keef and Harlem’s pretty boy A$AP Rocky.
Before we get down to the nitty gritty, let’s recap on our last battle between Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller and Cleveland’s own Machine Gun Kelly.
In almost a sweep, you all voted and with an astounding 93 percent of the vote “Wild Boy” rapper Machine Gun Kelly left Mac Miller in the dust with only 7 percent of the votes.
Chief Keef burst onto the music scene literally overnight. His song “Bang Bang” caught the attention of writers at Gawker, who featured the 16-year-old rapper in a huge piece about the ever-changing landscape of hip-hop.
To our surprise, Chief Keef is 16, on house arrest, and the father of a baby girl. It’s his hustle and his sometimes violent lyrical content that has gotten him where he is today.
Recently, Kanye West reached out to Chief Keef to remix his hit song “I Don’t Like.” With over 2 million views on YouTube and virtually unknown to the rest of the world, Kanye West took Chief Keef under his wing and showed him how magic is made.
Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky considers himself to be a pretty mother*cker, and when he released his acclaimed mixtape Live.Love.A$AP, the whole world agreed – Rocky’s pretty.
Over the past few months, A$AP Rocky has been working with a countless amount of artists ranging from Lana Del Rey to Swizz Beatz, Usher, and everyone else in between.
The “Goldie” rapper is currently working on his highly anticipated debut album Long.Live.A$AP, which is due out summer 2012.
