Driving to the hoop is OK, but driving without a valid license is a no-no.

STORY: He’s Out! Mike D’Antoni Resigns From The New York Knicks

Knicks guard JR Smith was arrested in Miami Beach on Thursday night on a warrant for not having a valid driver’s license.

According to NBC Miami, Police spokesman Sgt. Bobby Hernandez said the Knicks guard was arrested around 9:00 p.m.

He was booked into jail, under his legal name of Earl Joseph Smith, shortly before midnight and later was released on bond.

Smith, who was drafted by the New Orleans Hornets in 2004 and spent five seasons with the Denver Nuggets, joined the Knicks in February after spending time in China during the lockout.
