In response to an overwhelming demand for comments on the Chris Brown/ Drake / Meek Mill altercation at WIP last night Global Grind got this quote from Jessica Rosenblum; long time New York nightlife promoter, event producer, DJ manager and dear friend of Russell Simmons.

She also works closely with WIP & Greenhouse with celebrity events and programming and was at WIP last night.

“The weekly party on Wednesdays at WIP is one of the best nights at what is arguably the hottest club in New York right now.  WIP hosts a lot of celebrities and all different kinds of guests.

What happened at WIP last night is in no way representative of the club or the weekly party. In fact last night was an amazing night – there was a beautiful, fun energy in the room. The club was full of people enjoying themselves and the party was diverse in terms of music and crowd.

It is so unfortunate that an altercation between individuals gets blown up (because they are celebrities) to represent something else. WIP represents downtown New York to the fullest and is cherished by New Yorkers and club connoisseurs. I love hip hop and all artists who make great music – I just don’t love people who behave in an ignorant manner.”
