When Drizzy Drake and Rick Ross announced that they would be releasing a joint album together, they damn near broke the blogosphere!

A collab album featuring two of the smoothest emcees with the sickest flows would be straight ear porn.

The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced track “Aston Martin Music” and the massive Just Blaze-produced cut “Lord Knows,” just to name a few, were both stellar tracks courtesy of the duo.

So whatever these guys managed to cook up in the lab was sure to be sonically gratifying as well.

But when the Bawse suffered from not one, but two, seizures within a small 24 hour period last fall, the vicious hustle that was Rozay and his unstoppable Maybach Music Group had to quickly pump the brakes.

Additionally, the collab album between Ross and Drake –YOLO  – found itself on the back burner as well.

The postponement was disappointing of course, but in the arena of life, health always trumps hustle.

We wanted, no, needed Ross to make a full recovery.

However, thanks to a recent RapFix interview, talks of the ‘YOLO project’ finally resurfaced.

“You know it’s still a huge possibility,” said Ross. “Me and the homie still stay in contact all the time and we record often… but you can especially expect the me and the homie to put some type of work in.”

Sounds promising, yet definitely not concrete enough for a new single or release date to drop any time soon!

Back to the waiting room we guess.

But Drake and Ross weren’t the first artists to announce a collab album then unfortunately put their joint project on ice.

Here’s a list of nine other collab projects thaat were once promised but never came to fruition.

9. Foxy Brown & Lil Kim – Thelma and Louise could have been epic.

8. Jay-Z, Notorious BIG & Charlie Baltimore – The Commission – Biggie oftentimes shouted out the trio on his second album Life After Death, but the project never came to fruition.

10. Dr. Dre & Ice Cube – Sadly, “Natural Born Killaz” is all we got from this West Coast pair.

6. Lil Wayne & T-Pain – Imagine an album filled with sick Wayne verses and infectious T-Pain hooks? T-Wayne could have done some serious damage.

5. Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco & Pharrell Williams aka Child Rebel Soldier – The album – rumored to be titled God Unwilling – released two official singles – “Us Placers” & “Don’t Stop.” The ensemble also collabed on the 2008 N.E.R.D. track “Everyone Nose.” However, talks of these three hopping in the studio any time soon have dropped to a wimpy whisper.

4. Nas & DJ Premier – “It’s all on Nas.” That’s all Primo ever says whenever he’s asked about their collab album.

3. Drake & Lil Wayne – Talks of a potential joint project between these two have considerably died down. However, hope still lives on for these two.

2. Jay-Z, Ja Rule & DMX – Murda Inc – These three were supposed to be the ‘super group.’ However, according to Ja, egos got in the way.

1. Beyonce & Alicia Keys – “Put It In A Love Song” – OK, so this isn’t exactly a collab album, but we’ve been waiting forever for this video to drop as well! C’mon Bey and Alicia… us ladies need a summer anthem, too!
