Usually when people talk about designing menswear, they have reservations because of the technical aspect to the construction of pieces, mainly the tops. 

Blazers or sportcoats may be the most complex design to make perfectly, however that did not stop Sir Paul Smith from making one for every model that came down his runway for his Spring/Summer 2013 show.

The blazer was shown as a suit, but it was also shown as a separate far more often during the show. We think it may have been Paul Smith’s way of showing men that you can still play with the blazer and make it more fun than dressy if you want to. Sir Paul used bright colors that we’ve come to expect for Spring/Summer 2013 season, so he was right on trend.

It’s extremely odd to see a designer put the same piece on the majority of the models during one show, but Sir Paul managed to do it without it being repetitive.
