This weekend, Jack White will be performing at the iTunes Festival in London. It’s just one of many festivals Jack White has played this year. So far, Jack has been part of Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Voodoo and many more.

What’s interesting is that Jack White doesn’t appear to enjoy playing festivals too much, he said so in a interview he did with the BBC. The White Stripes ex-frontman said:
“I don’t get excited about festivals — they’re not my favorite place to play.”
Jack went on to say that it’s the whole environment of the festivals that he’s not feeling:
“Everyone’s drinking and lazing in the sun and walking around and that’s a fun thing for them but it’s not interesting for me,” White told the BBC. “I’m not trying to be negative, it’s just never been too exciting for me.”

Now, to be fair, White doesn’t outright hate festivals, he would just rather play club shows. Jack also realizes, because how good the money and exposures is, that festivals are a “necessary evil.”
That’s a smart man right there.
