Women love long, flirty lashes, and we also like to believe that the perfect mascara can give us the luscious lashes we desire – just like the girls in the ad.

But let’s be serious, that just isn’t the case. L’Oreal pulled off the gloves when they complained that the Dior ad starring Natalie Portman was false advertisement, as the product cannot achieve those results.

The U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority in turn banned the ad.

According to Buzzfeed, Dior admitted the ad was photo shopped to: “separate/increase the length and curve of a number of her lashes and to replace/fill a number of missing or damaged lashes, for a more stylized, uniform and tidy effect.”

Well then. Natalie Portman loses, Dior is sad, and now we all know eyelashes in mascara ads aren’t real.
