The man behind the exposure of the sex scandal that led to the resignation of the director of the CIA, General David Petraeus, has surfaced.

STORY: Damn Homie! CIA Director David Petraeus Will Testify Before Congress

His name is Frederick W. Humphries II and he is the FBI agent that started the full blown investigation after Jill Kelley told him that she was receiving threatening emails from an anonymous source. Humphries took it upon himself to investigate the matter and discovered that General Petraeus was having an affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell. As he pursued the matter, suspecting it was posed a security issue, he felt like the case was moving too slowly and tipped off congressional Republicans about it in order to expedite the process.

But the twists and turns in this scandal don’t end there! Humphries, himself, is also is under scrutiny because he sent Jill Kelley a shirtless photo of himself years ago. It was also discovered that Kelley and General Allen sent 10,000 pages worth of emails to each other, while some were sexually explicit in nature.

Colleagues describes Humphries as “aggressive,” an “obsessive-type” person who held conservative political views.

If you ask us, it sounds like he had a personal agenda of his own in this scandal!

Head over to the NYT to read more about Humphries and his role in this steamy controversy.
