The Daily Grind Video

It really was a breakout year for Compton’s latest star, Kendrick Lamar. The rap wizard’s debut album, good kidm.A.A.d city, is the most critically acclaimed rap album of 2012.

The rap star isn’t just a critical darling, either. He’s moving units: as of December 13th, good kid, m.A.A.d city has been certified gold.

It took less than two months for the album to go gold, which is not surprising considering it pushed 240,000 units in its first week.

Kendrick should be platinum by next year. The rapper’s next single is the Drake-assisted “Poetic Justice” and that is going to be a huge.

Congrats to the homie Kendrick!
