The Voice fans! Brace yourselves: Usher and Shakira have arrived!

They will be adding some Latin flavor and smooth swag to the judges’ panel in the fourth season of NBC’s The Voice. But the shift hasn’t been a seamless one for anyone.

For his part, Usher has been making huge waves since the late 1990s with multiple platinum-selling albums, including My Way and Confessions. He has 8 Grammy Awards under his belt and is undoubtedly, one of the best-selling artists in American music history. What a load for season four contestants and judges to take in!

Shakira originally made a name for herself in the Latin-American community in Spain and Colombia, where she maintained a strong following until crossing international barriers with her breakthrough hit “Whenever, Whenever.” Since then, we’ve seen her take down too many awards to list, including Grammys, Latin Grammys, MTV Music Video Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, not to mention a nomination for a Golden Globe, as well as a gold star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It’s safe to say that this Colombian beauty exclusively deals in success, even when it comes to her partner in life, Spanish footballer, Gerard Piqué, who plays for the highly exclusive football club FC Barcelona.

This will be Usher and Shakira’s first big appearance together since their performance with Stevie Wonder at “We Are One,” President Obama’s first inaugural celebration back in 2009. Since replacing former judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, they have been acclimating themselves to the seasoned crew, judges, and overall flow of the show.

And what is everyone learning this time around? That shenanigans and gimmicks won’t be cutting it.

Apparently, the new judges are raising the stakes and bringing a whole new level of competitiveness this season. They are taking their roles as judges very seriously, much more seriously than we’ve seen in past seasons.

We’ll see if all their legwork will pay off. Shelton thinks it will. “They came in with one mission, and that’s to win the thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them does.”

We have strong hopes that the B.A.U.S. will work it all out.

Tune in Monday at 8pm for the new season of The Voice on NBC.
