The National Rifle Association has released a statement that calls a relationship between Adam Lanza and the organization “false.”

According to Business Insider:

“There is no record of a member relationship between Newtown killer Adam Lanza, nor between Nancy Lanza, A. Lanza or N. Lanza with the National Rifle Association. Reporting to the contrary is reckless, false and defamatory,” the statement said

While police have yet to reveal the official motive in Adam Lanza‘s massacre on Sandy Hook Elementary School, new information from police search warrants paint a chilling picture of the murderer’s mind.

Police found a certificate from the National Rifle Association with Newtown killer Adam Lanza’s name on it in his home. A gun safe was also found in his bedroom as well as a Christmas card from his mother with a check to purchase a C183 firearm.

Warrants also show that Lanza kept an arsenal of guns and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition in his home. Other weapons included Samurai swords, a bayonet and knives.

Journals were found, although the warrants do not actually provide details of what they said. But police were able to confiscate Lanza’s video games, computer equipment and medical records.

One of the more heartbreaking details that the search warrants reveal is that it only took five minutes for Lanza to kill 20 students, six adults, and himself. Police also found three photographs of a dead person covered in plastic and blood. The warrants do not indicate whether authorities know the identity of the person.
