The movie about the life of Jackie Robinson, the first black player to break color lines in the majors, is the number one movie in America, pulling in a hefty $27 million dollars – well ahead of Scary Movie 5, which did a disappointing $15 million bucks.

As for 42 starring Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford, the move greatly over-performed. Just goes to show you, there is a market for movies that show blacks in a positive light.
Why is the movie so good? They owe it all to Rachel Robinson, the widow of the legendary baller. Thomas Tull, an executive on the film, said:
”Her voice helped us with authenticity. That was the person who lived it,” Tull said. “And that was a really important story for us to tell.”
