Chris Kelly is, sadly, going home.
But at his public wake at a funeral home in Atlanta, GA, mourners were greeted with an upbeat instrumental of Kris Kross‘ hit record, “Jump.”
And, surprisingly, Kelly was dressed in a black suit, white shirt, pink tie and earrings, not his usual backwards style that we love so much.
Inside the casket, on a sign attached to the coffin lid, read the words: “Cause that’s what I was born to do …” lyrics from the Kris Kross hit “Warm It Up.” It was flanked by photographs of a baby-faced Mac Daddy and Daddy Mac back in the day.
According to TMZ:
No media were allowed inside, though the viewing was open to the public … one vehicle rolled up with “Jump” blaring out the windows … a few local news trucks were parked outside … but otherwise it’s been a quiet affair.
He’s scheduled to be buried today. We’ll keep you updated on the latest. We miss you Chris! Rest in perfect peace.
