It’s been a good couple of days for Big K.R.I.T.

This morning, a new Big K.R.I.T. video hit the streets. The video is for the King Remembered In Time track “Bigger Picture.” The video for the song is really cool: it starts off with K.R.I.T. laying up with his lady in the park and then the camera starts to zoom out, going all the way into space.

The video was directed by Marc Ecko.

Here’s what he had to say about his work:

“Krit! Thanks for this opportunity!  This is the first music video I’ve ever directed— I am a lucky dude to get this canvas to paint on.

First time I heard this record, it made me think of “relativity”— space, time-

It is “contemplative”.

Krit’s lyric is simple, and elegant. I wanted to allow the viewer to sense his effortless ability to be thoughtful — but never heavy handed.

This inspired me to reflect on the simple yet genius work of Charles and Ray Eame’s.  If you don’t know who they are, shame on you.

The video is an homage to their 1977 short film “Powers of Ten”.

Special thanks to Shipes and my main man Luke at KRSP.

I hope ya’ll enjoy.”

Then, yesterday, K.R.I.T. released a new song called “What You Know About It.” The song was for the Big Mix producer challenge that VIBE was doing, in which unheard producers would send K.R.I.T. beats, and the rapper would pick his favorite and make an original song out of it.

K.R.I.T. chose a beat from a Detroit duo called Foreign Allegiance and the song came out kinda jammin.’
