Russell Crowe, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Michael Shannon all star in this A-List reboot of Superman.
The movie starts off in Krypton, with the birth of the first naturally conceived baby in years. That baby just happens to be Kal-El, son of Jor-El. Since the planet is about to implode, they send this special child off to Earth, where he will be considered a God. The baby grows up to become Superman.
That’s where the movie kicks off. Director Zack Snyder uses flashbacks and other tricks to help you get the full story of Clark Kent. This movie steers away from the clumsy version of Clark our parents grew up with, in favor of a more rugged version of Mr. Kent.
But this is Superman and the story is still the same. In comes General Zod, played by Michael Shannon – you know that guy from Boardwalk Empire – and he is hell bent on finding Superman and killing him so he can rebuild the planet Krypton.
