Is this a game show? Are we still in it to win it? How long can we stay at war in Afghanistan? The war in Afghanistan has just surpassed the Vietnam War in longevity. The Vietnam War ran for 103 months and now June 7th marked the 104th month of the War in Afghanistan.

We just celebrated Memorial Day to honor those who fought and lost their lives for this country and now we see that more troops will be sent to Afghanistan. It’s time we re-think this Afghan war strategy, come at it with a new and different approach and not make this America’s everlasting war. It’s time we left, it’s not a popular decision to make but nonetheless it has to be made. The blame game has many names, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld all contributed to the war and now all are on the outside looking in.

Our date to leave Afghanistan is July 2011 that would be the 166th month of war. How many more lives will be lost by then? It’s time we end this war and bring our soldiers home.
