Our favorite late night comedienne just scored big with MTV as the network announced that Chelsea Handler will host this year’s VMAs. Chelsea, who hosts the E! hit late night talk show Chelsea Lately, will be the first female to host the VMAs since Roseanne Barr held the position back in 1994. Though the VMAs are known to be a little more laid back as far as award shows go, the folks working the censor machine over at the VMAs may just want to stay extra alert because Miss Chelsea can get a bit wild.
Last night on her show Chelsea joked, ‘Everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop you think of Chelsea Lately and that’s why I will be hosting [the VMAs].’ With her penchant for flirting with rappers on her show, we’re sure this year’s VMAs will be a show to remember (even without the predicted shenanigans from Kanye West).
This years VMAs will air live from Los Angeles on September 12th.
