There have been a lot of questions swirling around the release of Cruel Winter, the follow up to G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer album that came out last year.

DETAILS: Pusha T Says “Cruel Winter” Album Is Kanye & Q-Tip’s “Thing”

Q-Tip was the first person to mention its existence; Big Sean said it was coming; Pusha called the album a Kanye and Q-Tip “thing;” and Kanye hasn’t talked about it (he doesn’t do media).

So what about Common?

Common recently did an interview with Vulture and he was specifically asked about the album. The Chi-town rapper quickly dismissed the project:

“Oh, yeah, nah, nah. I don’t think that’s happening. It was more of a rumor — cats been creating, but everybody’s been doing their solo album. So that’s what that is.”

LIST: 10 Artists We Want To Hear On Cruel Winter

However, there is some good news: Common revealed that he did have a new solo album on the way:

When’s your tenth record coming out?

The album will be coming out by probably near the fall, because I’m going back to shoot Hell on Wheels in late April.

What can people expect?

New beginnings, new energy. You can expect to hear me rapping on music that you never heard me rapping on before. It’s gonna be fresh. It’s gonna be original.

Who’s working on that?

I’m definitely looking at some of the producers like Travi$ Scott, No I.D., 88-Keys, Hit-Boy. This has been the first time I’m open to working and not having just one, two producers and that’s it.”

Also on deck is that Pusha album, which should be coming sometime this year. So whether or not Cruel Winter is a myth, at least we got new material from the guys.
