It’s been almost a year since Chris Lighty’s untimely death and the music industry still can’t believe he’s gone.
It was originally reported that Chris Lighty allegedly committed suicide, but over the past year, Chris Lighty’s closest friends and family vehemently disagree with those findings.
Early on in the investigation of Chris’ death, his family hired a private investigator who announced there was probable cause that Chris Lighty’s death was a homicide, not a suicide.
In an exclusive interview with XXL, the Lighty family attorney Scott Leemon reveals why they’re urging the NYPD to conduct a more thorough investigation, stating:
“The main problem that we encountered was that the NYPD did not do a thorough investigation into Chris’ death. In fact, what they did do was cursory, at best.”
Chris Lighty’s mother has stated:
“We have uncovered real information that needs to be followed up on by those in authority.”
Hopefully, Chris Lighty’s family will find closure soon.
