The Louisiana-native has been killing it for a while now, and he’s finally getting love from some of the heavyweights in the game. He has been closely associated with Lil Wayne and his Young Money crew, and did a memorable song with Pusha T called “Trust Me.”
Earlier in the year, Gates dropped his f*ckin’ dope-as-hell Luca Brasi Story mixtape. Now he’s getting ready to release his Stranger Than Fiction album, which will drop on July 16th.
Yesterday, the rapper released the video for the deep “4:30am.”
Don’t let the sing-song delivery and the effects Gates uses on his voice fool you: the kid spits like no other rapper out there. He’s a skillful rapper and his introspective lyrics are full of detail.
