The creators of the new NBA2K14 video game have come under fire for their depiction of LeBron’s lack of hairline. (See above).

But the creators of the game are fighting back, telling TMZ that they were not trying to throw shade at LeBron James when they created the championship’s avatar sans a hairline. They were merely keeping it real!

NBA2K14 claims that they simply “strive for current realism with all our players,” which explains why the new image for King James shows the athlete way balder than his 2K13 image. James’ hairline has been the butt of many jokes over the years, seeing as how the 28-year old Miami Heat player’s infamous headband continues to creep further and further back.

Hairline or not, people still can’t get enough of King James. The NBA just announced that the Heat’s forward #6 jersey is the top-selling jersey worldwide.

Maybe James will just follow in the footsteps of fellow NBA greats Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant and shave it completely bald. We could dig it.
